Arts Education

Arts Education is invaluable for students and impacts them in so many ways. All the research shows us that arts education helps students perform better in other academic areas, too. Theatre in particular gives students self-confidence, stage presence, public speaking skills, collaboration skills, problem-solving skills, creativity, and flexibility and it grows their empathy and understanding of people who are different from them and their ability to work as a team with all different kinds of people to accomplish a goal.

I'm so thankful for a wonderful non-profit like ArtXecute that is providing this opportunity for Wayne County students that many of them don't have available in their schools.

If elected to the WCPS Board of Education, one of my goals would be to grow our arts education programs and opportunities in every school.
